Scott Myers and Garrett Tetil have been friends for as long as they can remember. Growing up in Michigan’s “Thumb,” they spent their formative years learning the value of hard work and community. As teenagers, they both worked on Scott’s family farm, which included a sizable grain system—a place where they first discovered how technology could dramatically improve farming operations.

Over time, each followed his passion. Scott found his calling as an electrician, honing his craft until he felt confident enough to launch his own electrical business. Garrett, driven by a keen interest in how systems work, pursued a degree in electrical engineering and eventually established an engineering firm of his own. Despite taking slightly different paths, they remained close friends, sharing ideas and stories about the industries they served.

Their conversations soon turned to the future of farming. They saw the demand for more efficient, technologically advanced operations—especially in large-scale farm and grain systems. Realizing they could combine Scott’s hands-on expertise with Garrett’s engineering insight, they formed Myers-Tetil Engineering & Controls (MTEC). By bringing their skill sets under one roof, they began providing comprehensive farm automation solutions that blend practicality, innovation, and a dedication to helping agricultural businesses thrive.

What started as two friends lending each other a hand on a family farm has now grown into a partnership that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in agricultural automation.
