FAQ

You may notice that you have additional space left to fill, even though your sensor is reading “full” based on your original calibration. This can happen when wet bin contents create a cone shape at the top of the bin. Although you can top off the bin with additional material, it is not recommended to use the “Set Full” calibration function after doing so. Varying moisture levels can cause differing coning shapes in subsequent seasons, which could cause bin overflow if the full level is adjusted.

A NEMA rated windowed enclosure can be used to protect your FullVIEW Monitor from moisture. In many cases, a heater and thermostat may also be required to keep the enclosure within the monitor’s operating temperature range. The generic bin should only be used in special circumstances. Those may include flat-roof bins, bins with a roof pitch other than 30 degrees, use of a non-MTEC bracket for sensor mounting, or if you are unable to set up your hopper-style bin with the sensor directly between the wall and the center of the bin.

If you do have a hopper-style bin on which the sensor is not mounted halfway up the roof, please contact MTEC for further instructions on performing a calibration on your system.
